Nicolas Burdisso Unveiled As Boca Juniors Sporting Director

Nicolas Burdisso was named the sporting director of Boca Juniors. 

Burdisso was groomed in Boca's youth academy and made his senior debut with the Argentine club in 1999 before moving to Inter. His playing career also spanned Roma, Genoa, and Torino. 

Burdisso said “it’s a very special day for me because I’ve come back to a special place in a very different role to the one I had before”.

He will be in charge of naming a new manager after the club parted ways with Guillermo Barros Schelotto.

Southampton Appoint Ralph Hasenhuttl As Manager

Ralph Hasenhuttl has agreed to a two-and-a-half year deal to take over as Southampton manager.

The 51-year-old Austrian replaces Mark Hughes, who was sacked on Monday.

Hasenhuttl lead RB Leipzig to a surprise second place Bundesliga finish in 2017. He takes over a Southampton side currently in the relegation zone.

Cesar Azpilicueta Signs New Contract, Maurizio Sarri Urges More

Maurizio Sarri has called for team leaders David Luiz and Cesc Fabregas to sign new deals following Cesar Azpilicueta's extension at Chelsea.

The 29-year-old Azpilicueta is signed through the 2022 season.

Dominic Fifield notes that potential violations for signing foreign U-18 players could lead to Chelsea breaking their self-imposed rule of offering only 12 month contracts for players over 30-years-old.
